From the point of view of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, liquid biomass fuels have been attracting attention in recent years.
In utilizing liquid biomass fuels instead of conventional fuels , it is very important to know its evaporation characteristics, which affect the flame stabilization, NOx emission, and soot production, for evaluation of its applicability for existing combustors or for new combustor designs. Therefore, in this study, the evaporation characteristics are investigated and its evaporation model are developed.
In this research, the experimental apparatus shown in the following figure is employed. In the bottom of the generator, a droplet is generated. Then the droplet is insert into the furnace. The evaporation process is observed by the high speed camera.
